Can You Hear Me Now?

|
Did you know that God wants to guide you in the practical matters of life? God is the perfect communicator, but we aren’t always the best listeners. In this series Pastor Greg is going to teach us about preparing ourselves to hear God, the ways God guides us, and determining whether that inner prompting is God or something else.

Walking Away from Religion
|
Religion:
Everybody has had a taste of it. Eventually everyone finds out that it
doesn't taste good. Religion leaves you uncertain, tired, lonely,
unfulfilled, and frustrated. Religion sends you running after something
that's always out of reach. What if you could walk away from religion
to something quite the opposite, something not built on rules to follow
but a relationship to experience?
The
Christian life is based upon a very real relationship with Jesus
Christ. He doesn't give us a list of rules to follow or demand that we
perform. Instead, Christ makes Himself available to live in and through
us. Otherwise, living the Christian life wouldn't just be difficult,
but impossible. So if you are ready to exchange religion for a relationship, this series is for you.

Time Out
 |
People lose battles
because they either get caught off guard, lack the resources to win, or fail to
apply the appropriate resource at the right time. This is not only true of
physical but also spiritual battles. We all face temptations everyday and whether
we win or lose depends on whether we can apply the right truth to the deceit
that is behind the temptation. Fortunately we have a perfect model who never
lost battle. In the series Time Out we are going to take a look at the
temptations Jesus faced in the wilderness to identify the deceit behind the
temptations we face every day. Once we realize what is behind the temptation,
and what is at stake every time we're tempted, we can find the confidence to respond
as Jesus did.

Character Under Construction

|
In
our culture’s ever changing values and priorities, character has been
superseded by individual achievement and personal fulfillment. Sometimes it
seems as if character no longer matters. Yet, it does matter to God who is
constantly in the process of developing and refining the character of His
children. Character building is a never ending process in which God invites and
encourages us to participate. When we renew or minds, it changes our behavior
which in turn changes our lives.

Clarity
|
When Jesus arrived on the world scene, there was a religious fog in the air. The religious leaders had created a system that was so complicated that people were constantly trying to figure out exactly how to connect with God or had given up on the idea all together. Jesus jumped right into that confusion, and emerged with a simple message. He met people who were viewed as the most distant from God, met them where they were, and led them where He wanted them to go. Jesus’ told people that God wanted to connect with them, and then He gave a clear and simple invitation. “Follow me.” He told them to forget the system, and take an honest look at Him. Those who took Him up on the offer began to believe that Jesus was who He said He was. Finally, they gave themselves to a lifestyle of obedience that changed their own lives and the lives of those around them. Fast forward two thousand years and the message is the same: Follow-Believe-Obey.

Building for a Change

|
One
irrefutable law of life is that where there is growth, there is change. A real
relationship with Christ always results in growth, and growth always results in
change. We all know that is true, but for some reason we tend to repeat the
same experiences over and over and get the same results—no growth and no
change. The only logical conclusion is that we have to break the cycle. How do
we do it? God has not made the answer to that question a secret. There is no
one more interested in seeing positive change in your life than God. In this
series, we are going to look at how we can build up our spiritual lives
resulting in transformation. Don’t miss this series! It could change your life.

Fear vs Fear
|
We face fear at every stage
of life. Fear can be paralyzing and blinding. Fear can cause us to lose
perspective, make bad decisions, and miss opportunities. Fear can lead us to
retreat when we should charge and run in the wrong direction when we should remain
still. Yet there is a particular fear that can tame all other fears and
transform our greatest fears into God’s greatest opportunities. In Fear vs
Fear, we’ll explore the fear that can hold us hostage and the fear that can set
us free.

Living Under Stress |
We exist as the most stressed out generation ever. Stress is
both unavoidable and avoidable and is both good and bad. Unfortunately, when we
experience stress overload we begin to suffer relationally with God and others.
How do we reduce the stressors in our lives? How do we deal with unavoidable
stress? God’s Word offers solutions beyond what many of us have typically
encountered in self-help books. In this series, Living Under Stress,
we’ll talk about how we can keep our relationships and our sanity intact as we
deal with the pressure of stress.

Faith: Use Only As Directed |
There is often a discrepancy between what we believe
and what we do, between faith and action. We often “know” but do not apply.
This series will take the book of James and provide insight and direction into

Moment of Truth |
It
is no secret that what you don't know can hurt you. In spite of that, we still
go out of our way at times to avoid the truth. Men avoid doctors and women deny
evidence of adultery. While the truth often hurts, deceiving ourselves
ultimately will hurt worse. In Moment of Truth, we listen in as Jesus
introduces some rather perplexing truth to seven individuals who had grown
comfortable with their misinformed lifestyles and belief systems. For those who
had the courage to embrace the truth, their lives were changed forever. They
discovered firsthand that the truth can set you free.
